Concept Art (Youtooz)
Working at Yootooz was an amazing opportunity to draw characters I recognized and loved, as well as work with the team behind them to create concepts that captured their personality while stylizing them to Yootooz' simple, cartoon-y style.
Cookie Run Kingdom
I’ve always been a fan of Cookie Run, especially their simple, yet colorful and iconic designs. It was tricky capturing every part while balancing the restrictions of what can be modeled later. It was especially challenging, but fun with figures such as Frost Queen and Pure Vanilla, whose silhouettes are dynamic, yet must be condensed in order to fit into the box.
YuGiOh
Again, very big fan of the series. This time, I had the pleasure of working with other concept artists to create the Yugioh Youtooz collab.
The Dark Magician is iconic, yet due to having existing figurines, it was important to give him a pose that was unique. So, I drew him in the same pose he has in the original card. Same with the Dark Magician girl, but flipped, so they could sit side-by-side.
The color palette was also tricky, as the Dark Magician’s color in the card, animation, and merchandise lacked consistency. Luckily, we were able to try different looks, talk with the brand, and choose the best one.
Doki Doki Literature Club
I’ve been a fan of DDLC since it came out. I was very excited having the opportunity to draw the four girls when Youtooz hosted the design contest, but it was challenging giving the girls interesting poses that served as admission examples while avoiding unintentionally taking ideas participants may have thought of. (Especially since I knew my fair share of DDLC memes)
