Story

Chromasynth follows a branching path narrative that depends on the actions of the player. Though The Program and its trials remain largely the same in all paths, individual characters and their fates are subject to change.

As the game publishes and updates, this page will develop.

Background

CS     All of us have this... energetic potential, brimming inside of us.
CS     Waiting to become something.
CS     Something that truly encompasses who we are.
CS     And what, as humans, can we do with these marvelous gifts?
CS     We put them to the test.

The Synesthetic Program was originally founded by prestigious universities in the 19th century to test students and reward those who succeeded with 'valedictorian' status. As the test grew larger and more renowned, it began gathering funding outside of academics for its entertainment value. In the advent of television and technology, The Program grew even more popular as people around the globe would tune in to witness ambitious young adults undergo rigorous, dramatic trials to achieve renown. It became a phenomenon implemented in both schools and public competitions, growing to the point of receiving government affiliation in a similar caliber to the Olympics, where other countries would attempt similar programs.

Now, The Program has exceeded its academic background and functions largely as an annual competition that offers any aspiring individual the chance to change their lives forever. In the year 20XY, where Chromasynth takes place, The Program celebrates its 200th season, promising the largest stakes yet to be seen.

The protagonist, Oojin Kim, is one of the twelve competitors in the upcoming program. Interactions with others reveal that they live with their father, a professor who is attempting to revitalize an abandoned laboratory in their hometown. Oojin's personality is primarily left open to be shaped by the dialogue/actions the player chooses.
